About

This is a home for all LGBTQ+ football fans. You’ll read about where queer identity meets footballing identity, by the people who know it best: queer football fans.

You’ll read about things like:

  • how football can play an important role in queer identity,
  • how we can make football more inclusive,
  • the history of gay inclusion (and exclusion) in football.

And we have a WhatsApp group for queer football fans. Want in? Email adam@outandout.football/

How we’ll do it

We’ll be aware of our own biases and represent the community in all its diversity. We’ll share writing discussing men’s, women’s and non-binary football.

Eventually, we may charge for some content. If we do, we’ll make sure marginalised and under-represented communities still have access.

Who I am

Adam (he/him)

I was born in Kent, live in London, and I support Burnley. I’m a gay man. In 2010, I co-founded No Nay Never, the first (and best, naturally) Burnley FC blog. In 2013, we launched a podcast, which is still going strong, though I left the team in capable hands in 2017. Since then, I’ve been itching to build something new. Out and Out is that thing.

Our name

Out and out, as in out-and-out striker. Out as in come out. Football as in football. Get it?
